Kinzig Lamps: Lighting Design Collaboration

Kinzig Lamps are a fine example of a successful design collaboration between sisters in law Susan and Caryn KInzig and glass and fabric studios. No two pieces are the same. Each is individually crafted and is a celebration of colour and texture in distinctive shapes, using a clever blend of glass, metal and fabric.

The Kinzigs are so talented. They also design jewelery, but it is their lighting design that drew our attention. Their work includes floor lamps, table lamps and pendants. Each piece has has been given a name that reflects their individuality and personality.

Take these beautiful floor lamps. To me they resemble fine ladies of the 1800's in their beautifully shaped colourful bonnets and hats.

Each light includes hand blown glass created by MAS Glass, Alex Abajin Glass and Little River Hot Glass. The result is dynamic forms with a magical quality. We love their exquisite table lamps.

Kenzig Design works with fabric studios Kevin O'Brien Studio, Sally Jones and Lonni Rossi Fabrics. The shades are fashioned using silk screened, bespoke fabrics that are either hand or digitally printed. Do you have a place in your home for one of these?

These product to me are works of art. The creators are very clever people !
